M,DCC,XXX. Brown leather binding, tight binding, professionally restored spine covering, gilt title on red field on spine with five ribs, about 800 pages, book is sturdy and stands squarely. End pages were probably added when spine was restored, rest is original, spine is fine, covers edges rubbed, corners appear to have had a different leather covering which is no longer there, mild foxing throughout especially at first and last pages, page edges are age discolored, a few small illustrations. Closed tear on title page was repaired with standard clean tape and is age discolored, former owner's name on first end page. Page two is dedication to the Right Honourable Thomas, Earl of Pembroke and Montgomery
